PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Residential Properties Ltd. President & CEO, Sally Lapides was a proud participant and co-chair for the Family Service of Rhode Island’s 9th Annual Brighter Futures Award Luncheon held this past Thursday at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

The luncheon was a rousing success, raising over $170,000 for Family Services of RI, more than any of the previous eight years of the event

“I am proud and grateful to have been a co-chair of the annual Brighter Futures Luncheon,” says Lapides. “Margaret Holland McDuff is an extraordinary leader of this amazing organization and I have no doubt that the money raised will be used to help many in need.”

Family Service of Rhode Island is a non-profit human service and educational organization which strives to meet the needs of children, families, and the entire community. This includes extensive involvement with education, adults with HIV/AIDS, elders in crisis, families wrestling with hunger and homelessness, and many others in need across the state.

“Rhode Island is a wonderful place to live and work for most of us,” explains Lapides. “But for many, there is a daily struggle to find a safe place in which to grow and thrive. Family Services of Rhode Island is an integral force in providing the services that are needed throughout the state to help and support all these children and families in achieving their dream of a better life.”

Over the years, Family Service of Rhode Island has helped to establish a homeless shelter, food pantries, programs to foster academic excellence, a school for children with serious mental health issues, and much more.

Thursday’s event also honored Mayor Angel Taveras as the recipient of the 9th Annual Brighter Futures Award, created to celebrate an individual or organization for helping to build brighter futures for people of need in the community.
